Devin Hartnett

Product, Design, and CX Leader
Washington, D.C. area

I’ve spent my career obsessed with one question: what’s the right experience for the customer that truly moves the business? Over 20 years as a product leader and designer, I’ve taken products from market-lagging to market-leading in zero-to-one startups and complex enterprises. Today, I lead CX for Capital One’s award-winning consumer banking experiences.

I’m a systems thinker, endlessly curious about what drives human behavior and technology’s role in it—instincts built by studying international relations and behavioral economics, then starting my career in journalism. I’m also a builder, at heart and in practice. With AI raising the floor for what’s possible, my mission is to push how high we can raise the ceiling.

Personal Projects

Putting Claude Code, Codex, Linear, a Mac Mini, and too many agents to task in my journey to make life easier and more joyful with AI.

Every finish line, for everyone you race with—head-to-head times, split-by-split pace, and every personal record tracked as you chase it. Email me for personal access.

Learning agenda: Linear loops that assign each task to Claude or Codex by model strength—and automated scraping that turns messy race results from email and the web into clean, structured data, no manual cleanup.

Firewood Fairies Live

A one-pager for my three daughters’ charity firewood business—and the site I used to teach them to vibecode.

Learning agendaTesting how well Claude can nail a kid’s voice and kid-style design—game-like animations and all—plus prompting ChatGPT Image 2.0 and Gemini Veo without the hallucinations.

Powder Hunter Building

The first tool that gathers what ski families actually need—on-mountain daycare, lessons, costs, and real travel time—across hundreds of resorts on all five major passes. Purposefully ugly now while I focus on data quality and ingestion.

Learning agendaDesigning scrape prompts that hold up across hundreds of resort pages, and keeping the Claude API and Google Maps calls cheap to run.

Coparent Private

A twice-daily briefing that reads our family’s Gmail and calendar and surfaces only what needs attention—with one-click add to calendar for incoming events.

Learning agendaMy first real foray into prompting and debugging AI—and catching and fixing bugs right from my phone with Claude Remote Control.
